The Student Coordinator position is highly visible on the UW campus. You will interact daily with newly-admitted students, their parents, University administrators, faculty, and staff. Student Coordinators help first-year and transfer students adjust to the UW while learning about office administration and teamwork.

Student Coordinators serve as a connection between professional staff and program-specific student staff members (Virtual Orientation Leaders, FIG Leaders, Dawg Daze Leaders, etc.). They support office operations and make sure programs run smoothly. Student Coordinators do the following tasks:

New Student & Transfer Programs is seeking a group of three (3) organized, self-motivated, and creative students who are passionate about the FIG program and curriculum development. The FIG Training Student Coordinators will providing constructive feedback on FIG Leaders’ modules during the spring GEN ST 270/470 course.
The FIG Training Student Coordinator position is limited to students who have previously been a FIG Leader.

The FIG Program Student Coordinator (StuCo) works as part of a team with professional staff, Student Coordinators, Student Assistants, and other student leaders to create a meaningful first-year and transfer experience at the University of Washington. This StuCo provides highly detailed support for the program and curriculum aspects of the FIG program. This StuCo directly supports the FIG Program Manager in the recruitment, training, and running of the FIG program.
The FIG Program Student Coordinator position is limited to students who have previously been a FIG Leader.
Hourly wage: $21.30 (effective January 1, 2026)
Start/end date: Mid-August 2025–finals week of spring 2026
Student employees cannot work more than 19.5 hours per week while classes are in session, including finals week, but can work up to 39.5 hours during breaks as agreed upon by your supervisor.

This position works in person from the University of Washington in Seattle (Mary Gates Hall), with flexibility for occasional remote work through a discussion with supervisor.
