The Dawg Daze Student Coordinators works as part of a team of professional staff, Student Coordinators, Student Assistants, and other student leaders to foster a meaningful first-year and transfer experience at the University of Washington.
Overview
Start/end date: June 2025–October 2025
Hourly wage: $21.30 (effective January 1, 2026)
Student Employees cannot work more than 19.5 hours per week while classes are in session, including finals week, but can work up to 39.5 hours during breaks and summer quarter as agreed upon by your supervisor.
Hours available:
- Summer quarter: 20 hours/week
- End of summer quarter: Dawg Daze: 39.5 hours
- October:15 hours/week
Leave time (including vacation and sick time) may impact hours worked each week.
This position is an in-person position in MGH 120.
Summary of work
The Dawg Daze Student Coordinator will:
Dawg Daze (85%)
- Support Program Manager for First Year Engagement with planning and implementing Dawg Daze, providing logistical and operational support.
- Be the primary contact and manager of the Dawg Daze Leaders. Lead training and plan and execute the Dawg Daze Leader Launch event.
- Approve, modify, and troubleshoot event submissions on the Dawg Daze website.
- Manage the Dawg Daze shared email inbox
- Communicate with RSOs and campus and community partners about Dawg Daze events.
- Work closely with the Communications Student Coordinator to create digital and print marketing including social media campaigns.
New Husky Networks (10%)
- Collaborate on planning and implementing the Network Kick-off Event during Dawg Daze
- Provide logistic and communication support to New Husky Networks as needed
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
- Be available for general NSTP-related tasks as assigned.
- Support the NTSP front desk as needed.
- Actively engage with office activities and provide feedback on our procedures
- Support A&O programs as needed
Required qualifications
- Full-time, degree-seeking, undergraduate student at the University of Washington in Seattle
- Good academic and conduct standing before and throughout your time in this role.
- Must be able to work June–October 2025 with a minimum of:
- 19.5 hours during summer quarter
- 39.5 hours during summer break: August 25–September 24
- 39.5 hours during Dawg Daze, will flex hours once school begins
- Working the weekend of Dawg Daze, hours to be determined
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to effectively communicate and track thought process, project status, and context to multiple supervisors
Preferred qualifications
- Experience creating detailed written communication that is accessible to different audiences
- Experience with event management and planning
