Rachel Sorensen and Kaitlin Schreiber, NSTP Student Coordinators, had the opportunity to present during the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA) Region 1 Conference in February. Their presentation, “Supporting Students who Support Students” was selected as the best student presentation in the region. Kaitlin and Rachel will represent Region 1 during the National NODA Conference this fall in Indianapolis, Indiana. The presentation covered information on best practices for training orientation leader staff to best support and provide guidance to incoming first year students.
“It was really great to get to present at NODA. We got to meet several undergraduates at other schools and learn all about their programs and also compete in a case competition! Overall it was great to gain some experience and bond with the FYP team.” – Kaitlin Schreiber
“My experience at NODA strengthened my knowledge as a Student Coordinator for Orientation by teaching me about values based training and how to work with many different types of personalities. NODA really emphasized having purpose and intention with everything we do in Orientation.” – Rachel Sorensen
