New Student & Transfer Programs is seeking a two (2) students who are passionate about supporting student success through effective communication. As one of the Communications and Engagement Student Coordinators (Comms StuCo), you will:
- Work with staff and student leaders to enhance the first-year and transfer experience at the UW
- Help manage and implement New Husky Networks
- Create and manage social media content for Instagram using Canva and Meta Business Suite
- Develop email communications through Jeto
- Produce photography and short videos to be used on social media and other outlets
The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, and has strong digital communication skills.
Summary of work
The Communications and Engagement Student Coordinator will:
Communications and marketing (60%)
- Manage and use a communications and marketing calendar for social media channels and email outreach
- Create marketing materials for social media channels including short video and photography
- Collect photo and video content for New Student & Transfer Programs
- Attend events, interview students, and use other outreach methods to promote and develop online engagement with NSTP social media accounts
New Husky Networks (30%)
- Plan, implement, and facilitate two Networks events during the 2026–2027 school year.
- Create weekly emails that provide new students with opportunities to get connected to the UW community and UW resources.
- Manage the New Husky Networks Discord.
- Manage the New Husky Networks sign-up process and form.
- Be the primary contact for New Husky Networks students and manage FYEngage shared email inbox.
- Lead assessments to evaluate and improve the program.
- Conduct individual reach-outs to caseload students in order to support student transitions.
Other duties as assigned (10%)
- Support A&O programs as needed
- Support Dawg Daze as needed
- Be available for general NSTP-related tasks as assigned.
- Support the NSTP front desk as needed.
- Actively engage with office activities and provide feedback on our procedures
Dates and hours
Start/end date: 6/15/26–6/11/27
Hourly wage: $21.30 (effective January 1, 2026)
Hours available:
- Summer quarter: 20 hours/week
- Dawg Daze: 20 hours from 9/23–10/2 (may include weekend and evening work)
- Autumn quarter: 10 hours/week
- Winter quarter: 10 hours/week
- Spring quarter: 10 hours/week
Required qualifications
- Full-time, degree-seeking, undergraduate student on the Seattle campus with a graduation date no earlier than June of 2027.
- Good academic standing and conduct before and during your entire time in this role.
- Must be able to work June 2026–June 2027 with a minimum of:
- 10 hours during fall, winter and spring quarters
- 20 hours during summer 2026 (beginning the week of June 15)
- 20 hours during Dawg Daze (September 23–October 2) (will flex hours once school begins)
- Must have a high attention to detail.
- Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to effectively communicate thought process, project status, and context to multiple supervisors.

- Previous experience running or planning events
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office
