What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
One must-experience is starting a conversation with someone new. It seems small, but it can shape your entire college experience. My friend group began because I talked to a girl in my dorm lobby, and I’m so grateful I did. Sometimes all it takes is saying hello!
What advice do you have for new students?
Be open to trying new things - you never know what new interests you could discover! I would also recommend keeping some sort of planner or assignment tracker to help you stay on top of your work and manage your time well.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Denny field because the vibes are always so good and I love seeing people all together doing things they love such as playing different sports, chatting with their friends, soaking up the sun (sometimes), etc.
What do you love about University of Washington?
I love how diverse my University is, the scenery and the amount of representation of different cultures on campus but also in different student organizations are very refreshing to see.
What do you love about University of Washington?
What I love most about the University of Washington is its inclusive environment and the strong sense of belonging I have found here, which is something I had never experienced before. I really enjoy the campus events, and many of the faculty members are incredibly supportive. I also love the campus itself; it is beautiful.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Suzzallo Library is my favorite spot to study. It's where I often find myself early in the morning, either cramming for exams, or enjoy a cup of coffee with breakfast. It helps me feel grounded and get me ready for the day ahead!

Find time to explore your interests outside of class!

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
The Montlake Cut! It’s a great place to enjoy some sun during Spring Quarter.

Probably the waterfront on a sunny day! its so calming to just sit and stare at the water, 10/10 would recommend
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Pulling a solo study grind at Odegaard for seven hours and hitting Aladdin right after!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
The MILL is my favorite spot on campus. As an engineer, having access to 3D printers, CNCs, laser cutters, sewing machines, and soldering tools is incredible. You can build ANYTHING, and it’s open to all students. It’s where you stop feeling like just a student and start feeling like an inventor.
What do you love about University of Washington?
What I love most about UW is the community. There are endless opportunities to learn, grow, and meet people from different backgrounds. No matter your interests, you’ll find supportive faculty, student leaders, and friends who help you succeed.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
There is a wonderfully simple boardwalk right in front of the Fisheries building near the water in west-campus. It's a nice place to visit late at night or in the early morning to watch the sunrise. Sometimes there are kind ducks, other times they aren't so nice, but there are ducks all the same.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
The roof of Terry Hall has an incredible view of the Space Needle and is rarely crowded, but if you just want to relax, the massage chairs in the IMA are world-class.
What advice do you have for new students?
Don't be scared to get involved and put yourself out there!

Notice how passionate your peers are! This was something that really inspired me to put myself out there a little more even when I was nervous to be in such an unfamiliar setting.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
The Suzzallo Library Reading Room. The space is perfect for me to have my dark academia music on and lock in haha!
What do you love about University of Washington?
I love our student activism! We have the Blocked Out monument, student protests, RSOs handing out infographics, and students having conversations in Red Square about what they're passionate about. I see students everywhere advocating for what is right. It is so empowering.

Literally everything! I love how everyone who goes here wants to be just as good as everyone else, making the learning experience so much more valuable.

One of the things I absolutely love about the University of Washington is its campus, but even more than that, the beautiful community within it. There’s something magical about being surrounded by incredible people from all over the world, each with their own stories, dreams, and cultures.

What I love about the University of Washington is its incredible diversity and boundless opportunities to get involved. With 1,000+ RSOs, hands-on research, and countless campus experiences, there’s truly something for everyone.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Take the PSYCH 210 class taught by Dr. Nicole. Lots of students take this course because the class itself is fun where you get to enjoy some laughs while learning. It’s also very flexible such as in-person or online.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love the aesthetic and vibe of the campus, it is not too big and everything is easily accessible to others, making it the perfect social environment.
What do you love about University of Washington?
UW is so big, so no matter what, everyone can find a spot that is only for themself. This could be a place, a group, or a position. I have deeply been connected with the campus, and so far everything has been the best.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
I would say Dawg Daze. It is a great opportunity to meet fellow incoming students and make new friends!
What advice do you have for new students?
Get organized early and manage your time wisely. Show up to class even when attendance isn't required, it makes a huge difference for learning and staying on track.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is either the quad, denny hall/paccar, or the HUB!
What do you love about the University of Washington?
What I love about the University of Washington, is its strong community and campus energy. Even as a large school, it feels connected and inspiring. In Seattle, there’s always something happening, and the academic and professional opportunities make it a place to truly grow.
What advice do you have for new students?
Try to explore Seattle! The public transportation is really amazing here, and the city is so much bigger than just the U-District.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
One event that I would highly recommend new students to experience is the Dawg Daze week that is full of events planned out.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
A must-experience is attending a Husky football game at Husky Stadium. The energy, school spirit, and views of Lake Washington make it one of the most memorable parts of the UW experience.
What do you love about University of Washington?
Creatives!!!! From HOMEROOM, the Asian social advocacy group and creative collective to Fitted, the UW’s fashion club—there is a creative space for you somewhere!!! GET INVOLVED! >_<
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Paccar - A underrated group studying space that’ll really get you and your friends to lock in on whenever you need to get done
What advice do you have for new students?
Show up to every space as your authentic self and don't be afraid of rejection. The friends and connections you make here could shape your opportunities in the future. You will get a lot of No's, never let those stop you from putting yourself out there and giving it your best shot. You got this!
