Start your journey at UW by meeting your Virtual Orientation Leader and fellow new Huskies! You'll receive an overview of A&O, learn about UW culture, and introduce yourself during this first community group. You'll also learn strategies to maintain and create support systems during your time at UW.

Registration Foundations | 10:00 a.m.
Meet your assigned advising team to learn about course selection. Learn the basic components of earning a degree at UW and create a plan for exploring classes related to your academic interests. This will prepare you for course registration.

Academic Interest Session | 11:00 a.m.
Select one of the two departments listed below. Here, you will connect with advisers to learn more about what it means to be a student within those areas of interest, as well as receive their tips and tricks for success!

Reconnect with your VOL and learn about how they have explored various resources on campus and how you too can take that initiative. Learn strategies to maintain and create support systems and think about your reasoning for attending college.

Conversation with Faculty | 1:30 p.m.
Hear from a current UW faculty member about classroom expectations, academic success, and how to build an academic support network. Get excited to ask faculty your burning questions about all things related to college learning!
Conversation with UW Leadership | 2:00 p.m.
Engage in a conversation with UW leadership and the Community Standards & Student Conduct team about our expectations for you as an incoming student. You will learn all about the UW's Student Conduct Code!
Break | 2:30 p.m.

Hear from your Virtual Orientation Leader to learn the detailed process of registration and discuss various resources you will use to register for classes this afternoon and beyond.
Day two
Start and end time: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. PT (times vary)
Day two agenda times fluctuate depending on your assigned groups. All schedules include the following elements with varying times. Please hold time for the entire day. We are unable to make changes to your assigned group without rescheduling your entire A&O.

Learn about registration restrictions and explore First-year Interest Groups (FIGs). Prepare questions to ask your Virtual Orientation Leader before you register for classes.
Course registration | Times vary
Meet with your assigned adviser and register for your first quarter of classes as a Husky! Most course-registration sessions will take place in a small group setting. Focus your questions on the upcoming quarter — your adviser will be available after A&O to help you plan future quarters! Be sure you understand how to schedule a follow-up appointment after A&O for any additional needs.
